I am going to die. This is so cute and amazing I can’t express myself or breathe.

Well, half a kg of wool came in the mail just now, courtesy of mom…
My weaving tablets aren’t ready yet!! Argh!
Ok, calm down, one thing at a time.
First, I shall try to spin some of it on the top whorl spindle (I suck with the bottom one, I think it’s unbalanced. That, and I suck). I might need to weigh it down a bit, because it doesn’t spin too long and I need both...

Damn you, sudden interests! I’ve completely forgotten about 100 word stories, barely got into spinning, and here you are again, with drumming this time. Sigh. Fine. Next time I’m on the other side of town, I’ll retrieve my frame drum from mom’s place.

So, “creamsicle” huh? I dig that.
The very essence of tumblr, I’d say.

Second time around everything’s kinking up from the very start. Could barely get yarn off the spindle - couldn’t wind a ball straight away, had to skein it (with the kinks still in there). Maybe I’ll be able to wind it tomorrow.

This is just a reminder for me not to lose this page, my bookmarks are a mess.
That’s it. I’m gonna hand spin.

random update
I have recently finished reading Butterflies are free to fly. I’m not particularly keen on the part that would require belief - the Infinite I and how it operates. Seems like yet another one of those systems for Human Adults. But I have no problems with the exercises and am willing to put in the work. So far I have started identifying the most problematic areas of my ego - my identity as a...

This week's 100 word story podcast →
I didn’t record mine because of my head cold. But you can read it :) The topic was “moon”.

Well, I’m glad I was in the freaking hail storm outside, wading through ankle deep water to even just cross the road, instead of in the house when the lightning hit it. Scary stuff. But smells awesome.

So, I’m sick again. Trying to entertain myself. Stuff I did recently:
- made Alex a notebook from recycled bits of paper. Forgot to take a photo.
- practiced the theme from Princess Mononoke on ocarina. Isn’t sounding too good so far.
- weaved a rag rug for kitten so she’d piss off from the big official one by the bed.
- lots of Huna. In my mind.
- doodles.
- written the...

I was always skeptical of huna, can’t really say why. It seemed to be marketed too aggressively. Anyway, in the spirit of exploring new systems I read “Urban Shaman” by Serge Kahili King. And it wasn’t bad. To me, it’s some principles of chaos magic with the techniques of core shamanism (minus drumming), overlayed with Hawaiian terminology. So if you’re into any...

(Here’s another 100 word story - I’ll be working my way through the backlog of weekly challenges on the site. Too late to record them for the podcast, but still a good exercise).
Nothing.
Heels click on the ceiling - the neighbors are home.
Just a hole, what looks back at her in the mirror. A crevice, an oil spill churning within, its slime calling for the bile to rise up, making...

100 word stories →
Haha check it - I participated in last week’s 100 word story challenge. I’m so inept at writing I can’t even tell if it’s good. Probably not, but it was fun and true so… the more crap I release, the sooner I’ll get to the good stuff within (if I ever pursue this).

Alright, I couldn’t help myself. I’ve watched those Korra episodes… ALL THE EMOTIONS! Is this another thing I’ll have to be watching in solitude, just in case?
